I just finished re-watching the 1995 make of Pride and Prejudice and Sense and Sensibility... Oh, I do so love period shows. Also, the inside of my head sounds like old English which is hilarious and uncommonly proper. Uncommonly.

I was awestruck at how a lazy Sunday of movie-watching and slacking about was quite the contrary to other denizens of the internet, or thus had they proclaimed. So much trouble brewing in he air, so much hate and disdain. Then tonight, I read on one of my friend's status updates her proclamation.

"There should be no room for hate in this world."

To which I replied and have since decided to continue responding in prose.

Hate
Contempt
Lies
False accusations.

A tool for the tool,
Society and her ill-will.
Harm.

The deceit
A slow and debilitating disease.
A rash form of death.
Of decay.

Poor form.
Poor, poor form.

No sooner I,
I'd rather a knife on my side.

A bludgeon to the head.

Morbid and Concise.

The actual wound.

Post midnight conversational meanderings brought me to thinking about iconic music. The music I grew up with... You know, the ones where if it started playing, a majority of people would chime in.

Queen's Bohemian Rhapsody where people would chime in to that bit in the middle before Brian May's epic guitar solo...
House of Pain's Jump Around where everyone would start jumping... together and i hope the floor doesn't collapes...
Blur's Song 2 where just about anyone would join and "WOO-HOO!"
MC Hammer's Can't Touch This because "Stop, hammer time,"
Sir Mixalot's Baby Got Back because "I like big butts and I cannot lie,"
(dll.)

Yeah, the whole idea that some of the kids I know DON'T know these songs scare me more than my mother and is unacceptable. I feel sorry for them.

Poem time!
This time with a piece I call...

Sensorium

Audio.
Stimulus.

Euphoric sensory fluctuations
Occurring.
It's happening,
It's emotional, it's awe, it's raw.

It takes you away.
Lights,
Sounds,
Harmonies,
Dissonance.

Nuances of beauty and structure,
Floaty, flighty and free.

Light and devoid of trouble.
Contrasting, inspiring,
Explosions that make the heart race,
The heart skips,
The heart loses a beat,
A brain that suddenly releases its grip on reality.

Your eyes perceive,
your ears hear,
your mind wanders into the murky waters of uncertainty.
You make music.

The colours titillate,
The beats entice,
Your foot taps the ground,
Fingers rapping the surface.
Lips that pucker up.
Inhale,
Exhale.

Sound.
Cosmic Vibrations.

I feel all tingly inside, a sudden burst of joy. Unimaginable what simple music construction can do to a weary soul.
I had a creepy-ass dream though I don't quite remember it. It had something to do with an interdimensional safe house, first floor was for a women's club, the upper floor was for some kind of weird fire-pit covered with a large plastic-like tarp and we had to use 'brimstone' to fire it up.

Guy: Can you make brimstone?
Me: If I'm pissed enough... hahahaha... *didn't realise he was serious*

It's freaky because the pit summons things that wouldn't be there otherwise, Like the Minotaur with a giant axe that lead me through the cavernous flux and into the safe house's portal.

I can't remember the rest now. Pfeh.

My presentation is at 10AM tomorrow. The final render is running now and everything else is done and sitting pretty on my bed. I'll have to wake up early tomorrow to do one more print and get a bagel or something for breakfast and mosey on to uni to start arranging things and hopefully bait someone into helping me pin up.

Man, this post sounds so dead. :|

Good night, world.

How is it possible that the 21st century can still have computer illiterate under 20 year olds?

SERIOUSLY!
Nobody is that dense!
It's like kuih lapis...
Nay, IT'S LIKE A BLACK HOLE.

Oh. Dear. God. WHY AM I AWAKE?

Oh, right, Quang needs CAD tutoring.
I'M A FUCKING SAINT OF A FRIEND!

Sorry for the noisy chatters fellow housemates. :(

Today's post is about fish. Yes, fish.

I've again come across Which Fish Are Okay To Eat? o'er the internet and, true to form, now I feel bad. Not the good kind of bad where you feel cool like the Fonz but bad as in karmatically (I made that word up) you might dissolve into a puddle of blubbering, crying mass on the floor with nobody to tell you it's okay and the fish had it coming. Overdramatic? Not really.

I'm writing down the names of fishes only on the 'Yes' column and attaching photos of them because 1. It's easier for me to commit to memory if I can actually SEE the types of fish and 2. It'll be good to stick to the yesses only.

Coho Salmon

Arctic Char

Barramundi

Cobia

Striped Bass
joke, joke!

Rainbow Trout

Catfish
(I'm thinking all catfish are edible?)
Joking again, there's too many kinds of catfishes to narrow down on just one picture.

Tilapia

Sardines

Dab

Flounder

Red Mullet

Black Bream

Herring from Norway

Mackerel

Gurnard
and it looks like a small aircraft :|

Seabass fished with line and stillnet

Albacore Tuna

Big Eye Tuna

Anchovy

Blackcod/Sablefish

Halibut

Crimson Snapper

Cod

White Seabass

All I can say right now is this fishes are really ugly creatures. And tasty.

Okay, I didn't go to the PPP (Preliminary Pisser's Presentation) because I am unprepared. Also, I woke up late. Whoop-dee-doodly-doo.

Finish up goddamn CAD so I can move on to doing the presentation pieces and get everything else done. Hish. Harder than I though.

Oh look! An article on table manners! I shall sleep early tonight.

Who knew beets, garlic, alfalfa, chili flakes, olive oil and pasta would taste so good! I practically inhaled a bowl full of it!

I cannot wait until Studio two is over. It's driving me mad.

Preliminary (pisser's) presentation tomorrow, chances are my brain will just go blweaaahhh and pretty much mean I'd rosakkan the whole thing. I'd much rather stay at home but my ego wont let me. Also, I'm grossly unprepared.

I got sucked into watching cartoons for a better half of my morning. No, it's not good.

Also, has anyone realised how Jesse Eisenberg...

Looks uncannily like the younger version of Alan Davies?

Who looks quite like a less disheveled version of Marco Pierre White?

I guess I have too much time on my hands. That or the particular Y (or X) chromosome transcends any particular order. The only difference is that Marco is a douche and not at all funny.

OMG NO MORE HISTORY THEORY 2!

What's left is Studio and Comm. I start work TOMORROW!

Thursday, October 13, 2011

I have officially run out of steam for History Theory 2. Which is great because I only have bits and bobs left to do and off to the printer in the early morning tomorrow before heading to breakfast at that little place in front of Duck Duck Goose. They have some lovely french toast there with poached fruit and ricotta cream.

For the presentation on Tuesday, I must choose my words ever so carefully. Ever. So. Carefully. All my findings and work must not be undermined by the ludicrous act of random tangents by the tutors just because I just so happened to mention something.

FOR CHRISSAKES MY WORK HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH THE FUCKING BEANBAGS/FUTONS! WOULD YOU LEAVE IT THE FUCK ALONE?

Sunday, October 09, 2011

Hi, I'm staring in the face of History Theory 2 thinking up ways to write a response to stuff I don't really care for because I've already written responses for stuff I do care for. I haven't started on my 3k word essay on Surrealism and my Pavilion is being neglected. Truly the start of a lovely weekend.

Things I've got left to do:
The Arts and Crafts Movement
Cubism
De Stijl Write up

Surrealism Essay

Pavilion placement (Sections, Elevations and Plans)
Sketches of the Pavilion
Photos
Model?
Visual hierarchy for the presentation

Organisational Chart for Strandbeest
(which can be explained by Theo Jansen himself on TEDtalks!)

Wheee!

Have less and give more, progress quick but move slowly, be happy.

Symphonic Metal is the best when you need to work. So beautiful and terrifying.

Soundwave festival is upon us again. One year FLEWWWW by.

Thursday, October 06, 2011

It's quiet time now as I sit and tap on the keyboard, I also make lists in my head so that I can write them down for later.
I feel so disorganised at the moment but it's okay, the weekend is coming and that's usually when I get a lot of work done. Funny isn't it? I guess, in a way it's because I have no interruptions and my time is my own to dictate.

Wednesday, October 05, 2011

I've got to consider how my time is spaced out for the next two weeks. I've got assignments that involve a lot of hands-on making and research and it's a pain.

Aside from that it's interesting how some persons react to a certain situation. The most amusing ones run around like a headless chicken in their head and retort with passive aggression. I find it hilarious.

Right, I need to wake up at a god forsaken hour in the morning and do laundry before prepping the kitchen area for work. A lot of work. I intend to finish a bulk of HT2 and Studio 2 sketching before clearing up anything else that doesn't involve the big computer.

Yes, I do judge people by how much they relieve themselves off their alleged stress. I can't help it. Inebriated people often act foolishly, without concern and self respect.
It's Wednesday and I'm spacing out while thinking of the human contraband. How awful. I think next year I might buy a Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 (or whatever comes out that's not an iPhail) because it's time for me to get one. I had cracked the corner screen of my laptop and it looks like spiders had built a home there. Tiny Shelobs come to devour my emails, okay, maybe not. I can still use it though so it's cool.

I am enjoying my two Twelve Foot Ninja LP's and should really start work. Really, really.
Okay, I start reading.

Wait, someone just triggered the emergency alarm and it's telling all of us to 'Evacuate as directed'... I didn't get any directions pun.

Me crawling in the dark for a while, feeling around for a light. Lo, I find. I am joyous again.

In other words, P didn't screw me over today. I think she's just glad I presented something well thought out.
Ha!
