Let me preface this post by mentioning that my lovely lecturers have given each of us a high profile 'client' to work with and was chosen based on our observed personality or points in whatever we've designed. They gave me Steven Holl.
Now, if I described myself as I am perceived in the public eye it would sound a lot like:
Calm, collected, bright spark, people oriented, loves and lives in the human-nature interaction, focusing on the correlation between spaces personalities and moods, light in relation to a space and light in relation to the medium of expression, cavalier, motivated if it suits me, and all around awesome.
The reality is that I'm not quite sure what the general public sees me as.
Also when I don't like something it usually goes the way of 'masuk telinga kiri keluar telinga kanan' which is honestly what I do when I think the feedback was wholly unnecessary.
I like glass and metal and wood but only in pairs and not too much of each unless the façade warrants it. It's quite difficult to use if you want to bear in mind the eventual inhabitants and how they might interact in a new system. Design thinking based on the word green and the words good-for-the-soul. If it had anything to do with me it would probably have a lot to do with personal discovery, interaction and displays of human emotion AND whether or not it feels good. If it feels bad, don't do it which is probably why I'm not so keen on negative reinforcement oftentimes.
What I already DID was to have gotten off Pinterest and blah-blah-blah... What I am doing now though is spacing out while typing this. Pursuant to posts on twitter that I had written shortly before: "... sensitive crafting of space, materials, and light." Oh, I seeeeeeee... Ego much?"
It seems that I perhaps tried to correlate his (Mr. Holl) methods into my own thereby raising my self worth... Hence the ego trip I just had which lasted about 10 minutes.
I still have to write a script so I can record me talking over the stop motion-animation thing which is really about my lunch. So, to sum up the things I have left to do:
- Read reader
- Do necessary writing and spaces based on readings and lecture
- Script for stop-motion animation
- Printing and stuff for my presentation at 3ish PM with Cikgu NoHumour. Honestly, why I keep getting Cikgu NoHumour is beyond me. I cannot begin to explain to you how much dread we (and I'm speaking for the class) have when we have to face said Cikgu NoHumour. But oh, well. Sabar je lah.
- Tape Melby roster ironing out of to see who's good and who's not.
- Fill in papers to give back to Sara so she can do up the contract.
- Update the blog with links to specific projects so that it's easier for everything to be accessed because I always gripe about inaccessible blogs and websites and lo, mine's a flippant mirror of it. Bah.
Oh, and I got my TFN finally. I can now do random jobs and get paid proper.
Also, I might just get an internship thingy for summer after all!
