The apparatus that'll be accompanying the compendium will be a pair of glasses that takes in sound and converts it to colour so that you see in tone. XD

YUSH!

In light of this, I may not be dead after all. :D

Mash potatoes.
In my tummy.
Uni work
Very not funny.

I want to slack
but I cannot.
For when tomorrow,
I have got

Two submissions
and a headache
work unending
Feel like a nenek

Head so scattered
And so bleh
I wish I could
just say 'meh'

But kenot lah
I hear you moan
So I sit here
And I stone.

Have decided to chart the whole mall in colours according to how noisy the location is based on reverbration and number of persons. Noise and sounds to colour association and as a bunch of blobs... Like colourful Venn Diagrams of harmonies and dissonances.

Good idea?
I think it'll work when I put it into the context of the object I have to design to go along with it.

I may have just had one too many cups of coffee...

Oh my goodness oh my goodness oh my goodness!!!

MELBOURNE INTERNATIONAL COMEDY FESTIVAL IS UPON US!
Unfortch,
Not a lot of peopel I want to see except for Harith, Jenhen and Douglas from the Malaysian stage. :|

I want them to book Jimmy Carr and Eddie Izzard for next year. Actually, I wat everyone from Black Books and QI. Is that too much to ask?

So, I received an email from my History-Theory 3 lect about today's tute session, addressed to everyone. It had a PDF of stuff that she wrote while we were rambling about out research idea. Funny thing though, whyile everyone had some remarks n how to better their work or fix it somehow, all I got was

"Sorry, I was so busy listening to you that I forgot to make any notes, but I can see that I have put a tick against your name so it must have been going ok. Maybe send me an email to remind me."

Don't know if I should be beaming with pride that I had captivated her so much or offended that she didn't give me anything to ride on because she was so enthralled.

heh-heh-heh, I must admit I'm leaning towards the former.

And then there's History-Theory 3, with its rubbish load of writing to be done and a ponderous question to be thought up of so I can work with...

I picked the one about an implied sense. Great, another hole I might have dug myself into.

And apparently I had bummed the what might have been the perfect lecture for my topic of dissection.
Fahk.

It's a little bit of a conundrum when you're tasked with a project whereby you put yourself into the shoes of a synaesthete -- or you project in your mind that you ARE a synaesthete -- and have to compile a curious collection in the style of something. I picked the lowly Travel Guide. Because I like digging marvelous holes for myself which I would then attempt to get out of at the end of the semester, and rather triumphantly.

I was thinking of calling it 'Hippocampus Walkabouts' Mainly because the sensorial overloads people have are due to the brain processes and the hippocampus is linked to memory, olfaction and most importantly, NAVIGATION. It is a travel guide, after all.

Following the rough outline of The Lonely Planet Guides, which I am quite rather fond of, I am going to do sensorial explorations of two lanes within the city (and later move on to more as it goes along) BUT there's a hook to this project: I have to do it by switching senses. I would have to TASTE words, SMELL colours, SEE sounds, HEAR textures and FEEL flavours.

As if that wasn't enough, I'd like to do it on the perspective of my scooter where I navigate the path of least resistance and feel the surfaces that I tread upon by the sounds the machine (and in part, I) make as it rolls across terrains.

That said, I like words so I'd probably end up doing most of my sensorial twistings based on words. I will taste, feel, smell, hear and see WORDS. It would be an insteresting thing to do to have pictures of something so personal and so subjective as a synaesthete's experience and then to have to exhibit it to the public as a definitive gallery.

So now to pick two sites so similar yet vastly different.
Ponderous pontifications.

Of course, this is a memo note to me so I don't get carried away.

Probably. :P
I've decided that the ASUS will be bought in KL and brought here with my sister because Kecik is not sufficiently broken yet. Also, I'm going to try and get a job at the Uni library for the extra monies.

Ah, things I learn from Uni now thanks to my Synaesthetics class.
And this time, Peter.

I tersengih like a mad person watching Diego Stocco play a little plant. You should watch his piece at the laundromat.

PURE. GENIUS.

Aside from that, The Bubble Box for Syn Class and French class are both a great success!
I have learnt new words and phrases. I feel good.

Today, while I sat in front of the computer and was multitasking, I had thought up a quote which fell into my twitter feed as soon as it flowed off my fingers. I had said "Let genres not be the specifics and the extent of your listening pleasure." because I have found that musical taste is only defined by one who listens to many things and have found love nestled in only the most beautifully constructed pieces.

I went again to check out Ella Fitzgerald scatting and found Jane Monheit! Her voice is like butter!

I do enjoy beautiful music.

And, please mute it and put on your own music.
Fractal animations, I am in awe.

I admit I was kind of worried when I knew I'd be going alone to Soundwave. Thinking back, the only thing I had to worry about was getting the GODDAMN TAXI BACK TO THE CITY.

FAHK THAHT SHAHT! *arranges a small table on a bigger table and flips them both*

Head still attached to body? Check.
Nothing stolen? Check.
Soul still intact? Check.
Slight sunburn? Check.
Had fun? MEGA CHECK.

Haaaaaanyway,
I was supposed to go earlier that day but I slept in a little and went on 9gag. Seriously. Which meant I missed Chimaira but it's okay because they had the 'good morning' set, which also meant I wouldn't be into furiously nodding my head a.k.a headbanging...

What I didn't end up doing was going to see CKY and Kittie because I couldn't be bothered to and I didn't know where the stages were. I had stuck around to see almost all sets on stages 4A and 4B and IT. WAS. *death growl* EPIIIIIIIIIIIIIIC...

Arrived in time for The Black Dahlia Murder which was actually quite nice on stage. I was pleasantly surprised. Skipped out for a spot of lunch and merondaing, walked into Zebrahead and Heroes for Hire and left because, seriously, wtf is that?

Then I ronda'd to the main stage and wtf'd again cos Saves The Day/Pinkerton were playing and I wanted to crash into the stairs from the 'omg wtf is this shit?'

I did resist the urge to roll in and yell "MY PEOPLES!" and roll off somewhere else. It would've been kind of awkward seeing as I was alone and nobody was going to laugh. Yes, I make up awkward yet hilarious scenes in my head frequently.

Saw: The Black Dahlia Murder, Gojira, Hellyeah, Shadows Fall, Meshuggah, Coal Chamber, In Flames, Trivium, Lamb of God, Slipknot, System of a Down, Machine Head.

Saw bits of: Zebrahead, Heroes for Hire, Saves The Day/Pinkerton, Steel Panther, Bush, Staind.

Voluntarily missed out on: Bad Religion, The Used, Devin Tonwsend Project, Dredg, CKY, Kittie, Cro-Mags, Hatebreed, In This Moment, Black Label Society, Marilyn Manson.

Aside from the sets on Soundwave, this year I also got to see Amanda Palmer! :D
Melbourne, I laike.
I got to cross out two bands I REALLY wanted to watch but had gone on hiatus and crossed out one thing off my bucket list.
I need to rewatch the videos now.

Also, yes, bragging.
