Let's Scare The Tourists

Today, we away to Phillip Island for some meandering! That is all.

DAY 6 OF THE 30 DAY SONG CHALLENGE! (a.k.a T-25D)

A song that reminds me of somewhere?

This song reminds me of the summer in Villars where my apartment overlooked club med (Because apparently Switzerland is in the Mediterranean). They replayed this a solid... 85% of my waking hours. -___-

A song that changed everything?

Ride of the Valkyries from Die Walküre... Come on! How can it not?? You can play this song anywhere, automatic win!

So Angers, Man.

There is nothing today except the lingering rage from yesterday. Of mostly hissy fits. About my beloved country and the people I wish didn't waste my oxygen. My. Oxygen.

Mine.

DAY 5 OF THE 30 DAY SONG CHALLENGE! (a.k.a T-26D)

A song that reminds me of someone?

This song, which I'm sure all of you know (and if you don't... we're not friends.), reminds me of Neens (SHOUTOUT, HEYYYYAAAAA) Because she is probably the biggest Queen nerd I know and quite a fantastic personality. She's in NY kicking ass right now.

A song that reminds me of my first relationship?

Hungarian Rhapsody No. 2 Honest to God. Also, it looks like day 5 is on a rhapsody tangent! It was an off time in my life, being 18, chasing boys. Fun times.

Anyway, let's not revel in the silly things done by a child. Enjoy Valentina Lisitsa's version of HP#2

Tuna All The Way

What's today? Oh, yes. Eating down the fridge for real. That means the absolute bare minimum to be cooked. Leftovers to be completely demolished. Lots and lots of... Tuna?

To be honest, I have no idea what to do with the tuna. There's tuna steaks with a medley of vegetables. Tuna ceviche which seems to be an in thing right now. Uhmmm... Tuna mornay in a puff pastry shell? Tuna crumbed in herbs and pan fried served with boiled potatoes. Tuna baked in garlic, onion and ginger eaten with rice and budu. I'm probably going to be REALLY sick of tuna by the end of this week. I have so much tuna.

DAY 4 OF THE 30 DAY SONG CHALLENGE! (a.k.a T-27D)

A song that makes me sad?

Or rather it makes me feel incredibly melancholic but not enough to reduce me to tears. It does get me thinking about the people I do really miss. One of those people being my late grandfather on my father's side. Datuk. Your number one cucu misses you.

Pink Floyd's Wish You Were Here

Best song I've ever seen live?

Okay, so I haven't actually seen this LIVE per se but it is the best live sessions recording I've ever heard. Even better than the album version. I can't find the live recording that I did hear so here's the album version. It's about a moderately sized black, hairy... spider.  Which died. In the end. All the sadness. Poor spidey.

Diving Fiascos

If ever I decided to make a satirical Guide to Me, titled "Guide To The Care And Maintenance Of Your Sha", Chapter five will have to be on Diving.

There's a bit of a schtick when you're in love with the ocean but you're weaker than a really weak guy (No offence to weak guys) because diving most of the time involves shimmying into a caccon of a second skin, designed to make you feel like you're about to suffocate.

AND You're carrying several tens of kilos worth of gear.

AND You have to resign yourself to depending on another person.

DAY 3 OF THE 30 DAY SONG CHALLENGE! (a.k.a T-28D)

What is a song that makes me happy?

Merv Griffin's Lovely Bunch Of Coconuts

A song from the most embarrassing album I own?

Ehhhhhhh... quite possibly Weezer - Beverly Hills

I Dislike Wetsuits Immensely.

I guess it's only fitting I complain about wetsuits today. Because a week ago I had to wear one after so many years of being able to avoid it. I hate putting on and moving around in wetsuits. I can't put it on without assistance, I can't move, I'm more buoyant than a safety flotation device, i.e.: Floaties.

I grumble loudly. Cold Water diving, thou art a poor mistress.

I should probably start amassing my own set of dive gear.

DAY 2 OF THE 30 DAY SONG CHALLENGE! (a.k.a T-29D)

What's my LEAST favourite song?
I have a lot of least favourite songs. I'd rather not get into it. These songs aren't even worth mentioning.

Give a song from your most recent album purchase.
I'm pretty sure the last album I'd bought was Soundgarden's King Animal... And the best song on that album is (re-listens to the entire album to make a verdict -- Hey. nobody said picking music was easy)

Halfway There. Here's the acoustic version.

YESSS IT'S MY LAST MONTH HERE IN MELBOURNE.

On one hand, I'm sad to leave all the amazing people I've made friends with over the four years I've been here *cue tiny violin music*... But on the other hand, no more cold! Life goes on!!! Also I get to come home to the warm embrace of... my... ehm... All the food.

ALL.
THE.
FOOD.

And all the usual suspects I love and trust with my life. What can I say, I'm a sucker when it comes to my people.

As a countdown, I thought it fitting to finally do the 30 Day Song Challenge (Double Trouble). Because it's literally 30 days before I touch down in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia -- Land of the ... Home of the... I got nothing...

Here it goes! DAY ONE. (a.k.a T-30D)

What is... My favourite song?
That's an easy one.

Bobby McFerrin's Don't Worry, Be Happy.

What is a song from the first album I've ever purchased?
I have to admit, I didn't really buy Queen's Greatest Hits when I was 6. My father did.
BUT
It was (still is) the best album/compilation ever.

Queen's We Will Rock You

Happy new year, ladies and gentlemen of the internets!
It's 2015, one more year to get more things started and/or finish some old projects. On with it now.

I do this every year, sometime in the beginning, check my personality type to see if I have wavered. Thankfully, it's been the same for the past 7 years now and it makes me wonder if, when I was a child, I were the same. You can't just fall into being an ENTJ can you? Or are we just born flippant, domineering and attracted to power?

Scarily accurate information on how I think... Karl Jung, clearly you are terrifying.
http://www.16personalities.com/entj-personality

"Anyone ENTJs view as being less competent or driven will see only condescension and arrogance."

"... they also have a particular skill in calling out others' failures with a chilling degree of insensitivity."

"... ENTJ personalities keep their eyes on the long term, and if they determine that a relationship is heading towards a dead end, they will cut their losses and move on in what will seem to their partner an abrupt end to the attention they had been receiving."

"ENTJs are extremely growth-oriented, and will seize any opportunity to improve themselves, listening to and acting on criticisms, so long as they are logical ones, and always striving to improve their knowledge."

"... they pursue their friends, seek out individuals who share their passion for deep, meaningful discussions, and who enjoy learning and development as much as they do. It is not always easy to be ENTJs' friends - they demand a lot from these relationships..."

"It's not easy to stand up to a personality as big and blustery as ENTJs', and they too often find that others crumple under the force they apply when they really start to enjoy themselves."

"... failure is not an option."

"In a partnership, what is best is what is most effective, and time wasted sugarcoating reality is just that - time wasted."

"able to adapt themselves to just about any hierarchical relationship by doing what they do best: asserting their opinions, taking the initiative, and accomplishing feats that others thought impossible."

Put into perspective, if I didn't have SMA I'd be the biggest, baddest, unyieldingest asshole. hahahahaha... This disability makes me slightly less of an asshole.

Slightly je.

A Christmas poem for my youngest brother persuant to a conversation about what everyone will be having on Christmas. The rest of us will be having turkey and stuffing and all things good and wonderful.

Ariff will be having his loner donor kebab.
Oh, how we laugh.

THE KEBAB BEFORE CHRISTMAS

'Twas the night before Christmas, when all through the house
Ariff was hungry for a donor kebab.
The stockings were hung by the chimney with care,
But Ariff was sad there were no kebabs there.

His friends were nestled all snug in their bed,
While visions of kebabs danced in his head.
He looked to the left to his bro in a cap,
They both left the house hunting around for kebabs.

When out to the lawn they left in such a clatter,
An open sign on the shop down the street was a-splatter.
Away to the shopfront they flew like a flash,
Barged in through the door eyes wild, hand with cash.

The dude at the counter, kebab pack in tow
Gave a donor kebab to the hungry brown fellow.
When, what to their wondering eyes should appear,
But also a miniature packet of chips and a beer!

With a curt smile, so lively and quick,
They thought in a moment it could be a trick.
He knew that kebabs and chips weren't a game,
And he counted the bill, and then called them by name!

"Hey Ariff! Hi, friend! Kebab, chips and a beer!
Only five pounds fifty since you're regulars!
No extra charge! And you too, Paul!
Now eat away! Eat away! Eat away all!"

As dry leaves that before the wild hurricane fly,
Ariff bit into the kebab and lo, he did cry.

"DIS DONOR KEBAB IS THE BEST SHIT EVER.
WHO NEEDS A GIANT TURKEY, AND STUFFING AND GRAVY, WHATEVER!"

They sprang off their seat, to kebab bro a wave,
The shop was open today, indeed a close shave.
As they heard him exclaim, ‘ere they walked out of sight,
"I'M CLOSED TOMORROW, LADS, HAPPY CHRISTMAS, GOOD NIGHT!"

University is finally over. I've graduated. I'm designing awesome stuff, and making stuff out of other stuff and a bunch of other things... But the point is that my student life is over. I'm leaving the comforts of long holidays and mindless classes for mundane tasks. I hope for an awesome workplace but we'll see where that is.

In the mean time, I sit here staring at this blog wondering existential things like who am I, what am I doing, where am I going which led me to this video:

Who am I?

What do I do? What do I love to do? What is the one thing I feel supremely qualified to teach people?

Who do I do it for?

What do they want or need that I can give to them?

How do they change or transform as a result of what I give them?

...

I'll answer these eventually, I guess.
