Malaysia is a weird country.
We do everything to protect disabled children and try to let them grow healthy and strong and smart.
BUT once they are grown they aren't allowed the ability to find work they want in the companies that have accepted them BECAUSE these companies aren't accessible and don't have disabled friendly facilities.
They aren't allowed to be independent BECAUSE everything around them wasn't made to allow them to do things themselves.
So how then, you've raised a disabled child to believe in themselves but society hasn't fought enough for equal rights to life and living because adults aren't as important as children.
When I think of this, I come to a conclusion that you should have let us die.
Also,
I just found out that Malaysia is a State signatory of the UN Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities which I find interesting because nothing is done to follow this pun.
Also, someone wrote an entire Journal on Employment of PWD in Malaysia: Drivers and Inhibitors and it looks like there's more inhibitors than there are drivers.

While the 30 Day Video Game Challenge is happening, I think i should post something in the interim.
I have been invited to take part in a Design Leadership Program (DLP) but d.labs run by a former boss of mine. First week has been completed and there's so much left to do
Being a 4-week intensive, we were already given several tasks to do. Simple tasks like describing myself, my work, my past projects. The most interesting one was to Draw My Future.
It's based on the TEDtalk below.
Based on what Patti said...
What I drew looked like a 5th grader took a shit on an A3 paper.
There we go. On the left we can see that I have gone back to my generally angry and dissatisfied ways. At least anger and dissatisfaction brings about change if I fight hard enough.
Tangent: During DLP last Saturday I had the most vivid case of deja vous. I had been there before. In my dream a long, long time ago. It was funny though because I was trying to explain a concept to my team but as I was explaining, the sense of being there before hit me so hard my explanation slowed down. I felt like I saw a ghost of what was.
On a side note, I want to talk about the current reveal for a treatment drug for SMA called Spinraza.
On one hand I'm absolutely elated. On the other hand, the price it's been given doesn't bode well for any one of us. Getting treatment with an orphan drug means that I have to probably be poor. Which sucks. We hope more drugs in the pipeline gets approved soon.

On one hand, there's that harrowing news that the MH370 flight still hasn't been found and there's not much insight on what truly happened. We keep vigilant and send our prayers to those involved and want them to come home unharmed.
On the other hand, it's Sunday morning and I can't sleep anymore, turned on MumboJumbo's 2012 pancake mix and it got me thinking about whether or not I should compile my own Sunday Waffle Mix (I prefer Waffles over Pancakes).
Let's meander on to the path of design and innovation sekejap...
So, this dude comes up with a brilliant and superbly revolutionary way to focus solar energy on a small panel. WE NEED TO FUND THIS! I actually do want to see a massive solar globe in the everyone's garden in a few years. Self contained energy would be great to replace the quickly depleting coal. Also, can you imagine if this was implemented with widespread use of electric cars and the likes? Pollution would be brought to an absolute minimum. I'm not saying there will be total eradication of pollution but it's a great start!
Back ot the Waffle Mix. I have no idea what should be in it... But I'm guessing the majority of the songs on The Blues Brothers will be on. :D
Ah, and some Bobby McFerrin for you.

Things left to do in preparation for midterm:
- Photograph the clock and edit it. Will probably photograph it under the table with the help of the table lamp and some dark sheets of paper and have it conform to the other posters.
- Final poster? I think it's the manifesto. My manifesto for Materialism.
- Make the "golden" credit card out of copper. Will have to find the embossing machine in the uni. Ross said it exists somewhere...
- Make an umbrella-plant thingy for Nick's class.
All of the above mainly for Studio because everything else is moving along swimmingly! And not with the fish... and definitely not in concrete shoes -- Because that would be bad.
If you haven't seen,I made a short introductory video for Carlton (the suburb, not the draught)...
It was for one of my Specialisation classes and it works. Could be a little shorter though but it's done so WHO CARES!!!! :D :D :D

I sit here, AutoCAD, a scale ruler, a pen, my phone silent as the night -- oh, where have my people gone. I'd done some CAD things and now I'm trying to find an idea to run with. Anything at all would be a great thing.
I stumbled upon Ashie's blog, Glowdown, and on one of her posts was http://www.artyulia.com
Delicious and vibrant, so titillating was her paper art that it may have pushed me into the direction of paper quilling for my next project. Surely quilling would alow me to adorn the quick idea of a mask/breastplate of paper -- no sequins of course, it's not my style. Paper is such a malleable object!

I am, eventually, going to attempt making Kuih Akok and Onde-Onde...
Akok, which I like to eat straight out of the fridge:
Ingredients:
9 large eggs
1 coconut, extract cream equivalent to 1 bowl
2/3 cup sugar
70-80 gm rice flou
Method:
1. Beat the eggs lightly with sugar
2. Pour in coconut cream and mix well
3. Add in flour
4. Heat the brass mould
5. Spoon mixture into mould and close the lid
6. Remove when cooked.
Onde-onde:
Ingredients:
250 g Glutinous rice flour
200 ml Pandan juice (Blend 10 Pandan leaves with 220 ml water.)
150 g Gula Melaka (Palm Sugar), finely chopped
100 g Grated coconut
A pinch of salt (or sea salt)
Method:
1.In a large bowl, combine the glutinous rice flour with Pandan juice and knead lightly. Pinch a small piece of the dough (about 40 g) and drop it into boiling water.
2.When the dough rises up the surface, remove it with a slotted spoon and shake off the excess water.
3.Mix it back into the main dough and knead well to form smooth dough.
4.Cover the dough and set aside for about 15 minutes.
5.Mix the grated coconut with a pinch of salt and steam for about 2 – 3 minutes and let it cool completely.
6.Bring a pot of water to boil.
7.Pinch a small piece of dough (about 15 g each) and flatten lightly.
8.Fill the center of the dough with gula Melaka.
9.Roll them in your palm to form a smooth ball and cook the glutinous rice balls in the boiling water.
10.When the rice balls float to the surface, remove them with a slotted spoon and shake off the excess water.
11.Coat the rice balls with grated coconut and serve immediately.

If this works, you can expect some to be served on the day of my open house because I'm lovely like that. AND Sirap bandung because it's awesome.
Rest easy that the obligatory Raya poem will make an appearance eventually, fasting started out well but I still need to drink more water.
Things to do:
- Source out Some cartoony photos of a bunch of characters and some topography maps for The Expanded Screen (ES)
- Do all ES readings in prep for Tuesday's class.
- Buy a sketchbook for Make and start sketching things
- Sketch out idea for the 'paper' portion of Make and hopefully not get overambitious
- Design two different ideas for the same house, zoning, examples of images and types of materials to use for the house for Light Trap (LT).
Really, now that I've written all those tasks down, it's not that much of work actually...

Here's an example of the infographic I created of the cafe for Syn class and one of the reasons why I didn't sleep last night.
So, aside from exploding awesome lightbulb, there was also burny-burny metal things. :|
Why has no one attempted to microwave a leech? I wanted to do that but everyone said no.
>:(
BOOO...
Tesla Coil amagahds!

Homemade plasma globe!

French Oral test tomorrow... better go study. :(
It's a good thing I didn't print out these things because the cikgu was ill and this became not so important.

JIALAT.
Had a conversation with the other cikgu about my end of the year Syn project and it had resulted in a conversation about learning to harness and control lightning, electricity and electrical charges. Which meant I needed super mutant powers. ORRRRRR... I needed to do some more research about taking the idea and extrapolating it
Nikola Tesla and his magic tesla things (Yes, I have tesla envy).
Lightning fields.
Earth Works (With reference to James Turrell).
While doing some research, I quickly segwayed into explodey awesomeness.

I think we really need a name because we are the people who do things. Who want to do things. Who want to make things happen.
We are.

Somewhere at the back of my mind, little me is telling me I need to exercise.
I should listen to little me. 30 minutes a day isn't that hard right?
Going to Greta's 20th as Scat Cat (lady version) so I need to make a cardboard trumpet, find a little bowler hat and a purple bow tie... ears and a cat tail. Goddamn.
Hat pattern:
http://fetishfaerie-stock.deviantart.com/art/Mini-Top-Hat-Tutorial-79563375
Black fabric and fat red ribbon
Bow Tie:
Use the same fat red ribbon as the hat
Tail:
Hadonnoh! *shrugs*
Ears and Trumpet:
Cardboard and markers
If that fails, I'm the Alice in Wonderland caterpillar... hahhahhahaha

When I am bosan...
I do this with ink at Max Brenner with free hot choc thanks to Josh...
Then I scanned it in and do this (after I added the wings -- and realise it's one well-fed dragon, or it could be preggos)...
And then I do this in Illustrator...
The blue dots are the anchor points which i fix and trim and streamline...
And then we have this..
Then I go to sleep.Tribal dragon done, part two will be adding the lace detail because that's really the most definitive part of the whole design.
